Getting things done.

I wanted to show you all the stuff that I worked on while our computer was down and out.
so here we go.
#1.
My brother and future sister-in-law asked me if I would make the flower girl baskets for there wedding since buying them pre-made can cost up to $40 apiece.
And of course I said yes! they are having three flower girls so I made....three.
( I just want to say right now, that I always wanted to be a flower girl. It's really to bad that you can't have a grown woman be a flower girl....I guess that would be a brides maid, which I am on of those. But the thing about being a flower girl is that you get to, not only wear a pretty dress but, you also get to throw flowers all over the place.)
I'm really pleased with how they turned out.
All-in-all they only cost $33.09 to make all three of them!

#2.
A knitted lace shawl for my doll.
I used Aunt Lydia's Bamboo crochet thread.
I...LOVE...THIS...YARN...!!!
it's like knitting butter.
and it takes lace REALLY well!!!

For the pattern I used the same Estonia lace knitting book. I did not use a pre-set pattern though. in the back it provides separate lace centers and edgings so you can "design" you're own shawl.
And that's what I did!

#3.
I found the most beautiful fabric.
I had gotten a pattern a few years ago and had never used it, so I thought that now would be the perfect time!
So I cut out the fabric and started to sew....

I had gotten to where all I had to do was sew in the Zipper and sew the hem. then I tried it on to make sure the zipper was in the right spot....and it looked terrible!! it was so bad it made me cry.
I think the pattern might work, but NOT with this fabric!
the fabric is 100% rayon, and it is VERY soft and flowy but it is also rather heavy. So the tucks at the top pull strangely and not be as flattering as they could be. So, I decided to make up my own pattern.

I have created many patterns for my doll, so doing it for myself can't be that hard...right?

you can't really see it that well. but I made it with a sweetheart neckline. I was to lazy to take a nice picture with me wearing it today, But it did turn out okay! I am very happy with it. it's not perfect but you know what? that's ok!

And that's mostly what I did when our computer was down.
Sorry I haven't posted really anything about knitting for the past few week's
but the next post WILL be about knitting! trust me!
happy Crafting~
Kacie
