Frodo

My goodness, it has been a rather busy couple of weeks.
I know I haven't posted for a bit and it has been even longer since I posted anything about knitting!
~
First, I just want to show you this freak strawberry that I found the other night...

I really don't want to know what they did tot his thing,
it was the size of 3 strawberries put together....

~

Now on  to some "handy" work..Ha..Ha..
I finished Frodo's hands! finally!

I feel really bad,
because I forgot to take a picture of the skein of yarn that I got for the elven cloaks...
It's Silky wool, color-Gooseberry.
(same type of yarn as Gandalfs sweater/cloak.)
I LOVELOVELOVE working with this yarn! and it blocks beautifully!

The back.

Well, I have gotten to the point where I have to take a break for a bit . I am mostly done with Frodo, all I really have to do is just to make his rucksack and than sting.
But as I said, I have to take a break.
I made a list awhile back of all the things that I need to finish and well, I have a ways to go...
So this well be my last post on knitting LOTR for, I really don't know how long...
But have no fear!
I will post of all the other stuff that I am up to!
it just won't be about what I started this blog for...

Happy Knitting~

Finger painting isn't just for kindergarteners...

This last weekend one of my brothers moved!
Since he has a lot more room then the last place he was in, he has a lot of empty wall space...
The one thing I hate about most house's I ever go in,
is empty wall space.
I mean if you don't have colorful walls
YOU NEED WALL ART!!!!!
so I decided that I was going to paint him some pictures.
~
My oldest Brother
( this is the one that moved...not one getting married, that's my other brother.
just so you know who's who's.)
is a great musician. He's a one man band :)
(his band name is Anurythm find him on Facebook!!!)
so I naturally thought that the paintings had to be musically inclined.

My "canvas" ( it's really only paper....)

My inspiration was "hand made music"
it is a series of painting's

It's all finger painted, to go with the "hand made" theme.
So there you go. Even if your no longer a little kid, you can still finger paint!
Happy Finger painting~

taking back GREEN.

I remember when green was a color.

do you?
~
I have decided to take it back as a color, NOT A LIFE STYLE.
Don't get me wrong, I have no problems with recycling and being responsible with our planets resource's
but I am feed up with green no longer meaning what it once was.
so join me, in taking green back!!
Happy Green(color)~

Miss Frizzle.

I don't know about you but when I was "younger" I watched 'the magic school bus'.
I always thought that Miss Frizzle was the coolest ever.
lets face it, she had amazing fashion sense.

For every lesson, her out-fit would reflect what the lesson would be about.
~
the other day I was at the fabric store looking through the red tag clearance (which was half off!!!)
I found this fabric

Yup, thous ARE clocks!
it was only $4 a yard. half off. $2 a yard!!! so I got four yards.
I knew that I HAD to make a dress out of it.
It was only after I started sewing the dress that I realized that it was so a miss Frizzle dress!
I was pretty stoked about that..

It has pin tucks down the front, and a waistband that where not in the pattern
(oh, and the sleeve's weren't the ones that came with the pattern),
but I thought the dress needed them.
I was so happy 'cuz I didn't have to rip anything out while sewing it
and it fit well with out having to do to much altering!
all-in-all it only cost me around $10!

And there you have it! a Miss Frizzle dress!
Happy Sewing~
